Bulgari New Curiosity Shop
The new space of Palazzo Maruscelli Lepri in via dei Condotti opened last December in Rome. On the door, the inscription Old Curiosity Shop – this is how Sotirio Bulgari called the first shop in via dei Condotti at the beginning of the Twentieth century, from the title of a Charles Dickens’ novel. Silvers, gems, plumes, little pieces of furniture, knick-knacks – a workshop with every kind of wonder coming from far and wide. A place where incredible becomes tangible. A futuristic version of that ancient Old Curiosity Shop – An antique shop, where the eye and senses move through a world of parallel visions, is restored to life close to Bulgari headquarter.
Inside, each room tells a story. The Tailor Room is dedicated to Bulgari customized creations, while the la Room of Wonder is a modern Wunderkammer. A futuristic shop where an imaginary line divides the rooms in warm tones, precious woods, wrap-around velvets. Finishings with a retro taste from one side, minimal lines, ethereal marbles and bright shades on the other. The collections of the ancient cabinet de curiosité are still contemporary. The surreal world of creativity blends with the real one of space, within a binomial in which white enhances the colour, antiquity celebrates modernity and everything can be different from what it appears to be.
On this occasion, Bulgari has signed in limited edition two-hundred pieces of Serpenti bag, twenty pieces of the watch Serpenti Twist Your Time and, as a world preview, the Condotti10 jewels collection.
