The Östermalm area of Stockholm includes most of the city’s upscale fashion boutiques, including international and local labels, as well as antique shops and contemporary furniture showrooms. Paul Jackson chose this neighborhood to open his gallery, Jacksons Design, almost two decades ago. The gallery has since earned an international reputation as a twentieth-century design tour de force. The gallery offers a massive selection of Modernist masterpieces, encompassing furniture, glass, ceramics, jewelry, lighting and textiles from Scandinavia, Denmark, Austria, the US, and Italy. Paul is tenacious in his search for quality material in as near original condition as possible. Paul is a storyteller, and will happily provide you with accounts of how he accumulated his vast collection. He is currently developing a new gallery space in Berlin. Artists, designers, and architects represented include: Alvar Aalto, Eero Aarnio, Franco Albini, Gunnar Asplund, Nanna Ditzel, Fabricius & Kastholm, Piero Fornasetti, Josef Frank, Arne Jacobsen, Grete Jalk, Finn Juhl, Poul Kjearholm, Dino Martens, Bruno Mathsson, Gio Ponti, Axel Salto, Carlo Scarpa, Tapio Wirkkala.
