Vitale Barberis Canonico’s woolen mill is one of the oldest in the world – with 350 years of history and the thirteenth generation of the family that is conducting the brand to future. During Milano Unica XXX edition fair the new SS 2021 proposals – inspired by the theme of Urban forestry – have been presented. Sustainability, performance and style are the keywords. The new line H.O.P.E. presents natural dyes from herbs – such as indigo, madder, gaude, directly applied to the fibers. Two new proposals are the Tela Rustica and the Giacca Montecarlo, made with 21 Micron yarn, 100% no mulesed, dyed with natural colors from herbs. Hemp has been added to the collection, a material that retains carbon dioxide in large quantities (the hemp production chain is carbon negative – removes more CO2 from the environment than would be entered by working it – and can be grown several times in the same soil without impoverishing it).
